As some of you may know from our social channels, our Marketing Executive - Elizabeth Keenan won the ‘Blaze a Trail to Dreamforce’ contest during the summer. This is the first post of our Blaze a Trail to Dreamforce Series.
Today on our blog, we’re sharing something a little different.
As some of you may know from our social channels, our Marketing Executive - Elizabeth Keenan (me) - won the ‘Blaze a Trail to Dreamforce’ contest during the summer. If you didn’t know, the ‘Blaze a Trail to Dreamforce’ contest is an annual competition open to anyone from the UK & Ireland Salesforce ecosystem attending Salesforce World Tour London. The competition prize - an all-expenses-paid trip to Dreamforce. Find out more about the contest here.
Last week, as part of the competition and lead up to Dreamforce, I went over to meet the team in the Salesforce Tower, London. This was organised to discuss the schedule and plan for Dreamforce, as well as film a short interview.. Here is how my day went and what I got up to.
I flew into London City airport early on Thursday morning, where Carl from the Salesforce UK Marketing team greeted and presented me with my very own Trailblazer hoodie. We then headed to Salesforce Tower where a busy day was scheduled.
Upon arrival in the Salesforce Tower, I walked through the main door and was awe-struck by the sheer size and impressiveness of the famous fish tank.
*Fun fact - the fish tank is Europe's largest privately-owned aquarium!
After I was shown around, we headed straight into some meetings with the marketing and events teams. We discussed all my plans for Dreamforce, interviews, sessions, parties and everything else Dreamforce related. The team also gave me some tips for Dreamforce, for example registering for certain sessions beforehand - which is something a lot of people forget to do.
After the meetings, it was time for lunch. It was great to talk with and get to know some of the UKI team before heading off to Dreamforce in November.
After Lunch, I was brought up to the Ohana floor. This is where we would be doing the filming of my interview. The Ohana floor in Salesforce Tower London is designed similarly to the Ohana floors in San Francisco, New York and Indianapolis.
There is a consistent theme throughout each Ohana floor, with an earthy vibe due to specific natural and organic colours being used throughout the design.
Salesforce Tower is the 2nd tallest building in London at present. That means the views are amazing! You can see the Shard, 30 St Mary Axe (The Gherkin) and London tower bridge in on view.
They also have a coffee station with a selection of different drinks (delicious coffees) and treats available.
Once we had a look around, it was time to film my interview. The library room on the Ohana floor was booked specifically for this. During the interview, they asked me things like what I was looking forward to at Dreamforce and about my contest entry - hopefully I can share this soon.
Next up was an interview-style chat with last year’s winner, Cristina Bran. We chatted about Dreamforce and what we were looking forward to.
After all our filming was done, I then headed over to a studio to do a photoshoot in my Trailblazer hoodie. After filming all day, I would say I was getting pretty used to being in front of the camera and had a great time in the ‘Image 1st Studio’.
Once my photoshoot was done, it was time to say goodbye and head home to Ireland.
This is the first post of our Blaze a Trail to Dreamforce Series. Check back over the next few weeks leading up to Dreamforce to see the next posts!
I had an amazing day at Salesforce Tower London. Thank you to Salesforce and everyone I met on the day, specifically Carl, Jonathan and Kim who made me feel like a VIP for the day and are organising everything for me.
Looking forward to seeing you all at Dreamforce! Follow along with the hashtag #UKITrailblazerDF19 for what I get up to at the conference.
