The Salesforce Release notes for Summer '19 was released earlier this week, and people are very interested to know what the future holds for their Salesforce Org.
Today, we hope to shed a bit of light on the best new updates and features to arrive - especially for those who do not have time to read the 472 pages of notes.
With each Salesforce release comes a host of new updates, features and bug fixes.
Summer 19 release is set for May 17th/June 7th/June 14th (you can check the current status here).
Preparing for a New Release
One way to prepare for a new release is to check out the Trailhead for the upcoming release. The Trailhead for Summer '19 badge will be available from the 3rd of May onwards.
Salesforce has a strategic plan of action for users when it comes to updates. By following along with the trailhead you will learn their 7 step strategy - ‘learn, educate, plan, communicate, test, go live, and iterate’.
Another task is to actually read the release notes if you have time. We know this can seem daunting at first, as there is a lot of information and detail included. Of course, you are not going to read every single part, only what affects your org and work. When viewing the Salesforce release notes, you can search for specific clouds or features, which will shorten down your research.
Taking a look at the timeline will help you prepare and set deadlines, etc. You can also take a look at ‘Trust’ in your Salesforce org to see when your Org will be updated.

This is a great addition, as before this was only possible to achieve with either custom development or an app from the appexchange.
